East Amwell is a special place to raise a family. One of the top reasons for this remains the school - and the community that selflessly participates in it, including our Board of Education (BOE) representatives. I have had the pleasure of attending multiple BOE meetings, speaking with both candidates and board members about their platforms and initiatives, and benefiting from their contributions by way of my children’s education as well as seeing their involvement in community activities and their children’s lives. I’m confident in our Board president Jason Nelson’s ability to focus on our children over any outside influences, and I know he approaches his role with the knowledge that his role serves more than just his own family: it shapes the school as a whole. Our board knows there is more to school than book smarts; under Jason’s helm, the board works to build a positive environment that enriches our children’s lives with both academic and social experiences. I’m proud to have children in East Amwell, and I support Jason, Sean Murphy, and Carole McGee in their campaign.

I'm proud to support Jason Nelson, Carole McGee and Sean Murphy for East Amwell Township School Board. This group of candidates has shown tremendous dedication to our school and community and together they bring the right balance of experience, vision and commitment to put students first.

As school board president Jason Nelson has proven to be an outstanding leader and collaborator who sets a positive tone and direction for the board. Long serving board member Carole McGee brings years of dedicated experience to this role where she is known for digging into the details. Sean Murphy brings a fresh perspective and energy to the group with a history of commitment to the school and community.

These three candidates share a common goal of making our school the best it can be for every child who walks through the door. I wholeheartedly endorse Jason Nelson, Carole McGee and Sean Murphy for East Amwell Township School Board in 2025.

My name is April T. My son is in kindergarten at East Amwell and we have lived in Ringoes for a little over 5 years now. I wanted to take a moment to share what a tremendous asset Jason Nelson has been as our Board of Education President. Jason leads with a rare balance of professionalism and genuine kindness. He’s approachable, open-minded, and always willing to listen — qualities that make people feel heard and valued.

Jason and his awesome wife, Nathalie , are raising three wonderful boys, and their whole family is such a gift to our community. They are active in our schools, supportive of families, and truly invested in helping our students succeed. Having Jason at the helm of the BOE feels like an extension of the care and commitment he and Nathalie bring to everything they do.

We are truly fortunate to have Jason’s steady, thoughtful leadership guiding our schools. I can’t imagine a better person to represent our community in this role.

My family and I moved to East Amwell in 2015. We were immediately charmed by the unmatched beauty of the area, the high quality of the school system, and the kindness of the residents. Sean and his family were some of the first locals to welcome us a decade ago.  The friendship between our families has only grown since then, like with so many others in this great town. We could not be more fortunate.

The strength of our school system is an integral part of what makes East Amwell special. It transcends partisan issues. I trust Sean as an independent thinker, but also a consensus-builder, whose mind and heart are in the right place to try to make decisions for the betterment of our school, its students, and, in turn, our town.

It’s a true pleasure to write this letter in support of Jason Nelson for President of the Board of Education for East Amwell School District. I’ve had the privilege of knowing Jason and his family for close to 7 years, and I can say without hesitation that the Nelsons love, dedication, and commitment to our community is unmatched.

Jason is the kind of person who shows up all the time; for the big stuff and the small—whether it’s for board meetings, school fundraisers, and tough conversations about what’s best for our students. What makes him stand out even more is that his entire family shares that same level of dedication to East Amwell and its long-term success. Together, they’ve volunteered their time and energy across our schools, youth programs, and local organizations. You won’t attend a Friday Night in the Park, a Trunk or Treat, or any PTO or Parks and Rec event without seeing the Nelsons there contributing to its overall success. Jason is invested in the continued excellence of East Amwell and our school, the well-being of our students, the impact of their time within our school district and how it will shape our youth and our community for the future.

I’ve seen firsthand how Jason listens with an open mind, seeks out differing perspectives, and makes thoughtful, balanced decisions. He devotes his time and effort selflessly. His number one priority is doing what’s right for students, teachers, and families. By extension, the entire community will flourish if our youth is successful

I can’t think of anyone better suited to help guide our district as Board of Ed president and to work alongside our administrators. We are so very fortunate to live in a place as wonderful as East Amwell and the school, its educators, and the students who attend are at the center of what makes our town so special.

We appreciate the ongoing support and collaboration from EATS and the Board of Education. When a recent issue arose, we reached out to the BOE president for guidance and were met with a prompt and thoughtful response that helped bring the matter to a quick resolution. The Board’s commitment to both academic achievement and the overall well-being of students is evident in their approach. Their responsiveness and willingness to engage with the community continue to make a positive impact, and we value the partnership.

As a parent, one of the biggest decisions we make is picking the right school for our kids. I can honestly say our family feels so lucky to be part of a school community that really puts students first. I can’t say enough good things about EATS.

I was a mix of emotions the first time my oldest got on the bus as a kindergartener, but those worries disappeared quickly. From day one, my boys have been welcomed with warmth, supported with care, and encouraged to reach their full potential. The teachers and staff go above and beyond every day—not just in the classroom, but also by creating a school culture where every child feels valued, safe, and inspired.

In the few years my kids have been here, I’ve seen firsthand how their teachers and other staff go the extra mile—whether it’s a small kind gesture, words of encouragement, or just taking the time to really understand their needs. That kind of care has made a huge difference in their growth and confidence. As a mom, I couldn’t ask for more.

What really makes this school special is how it feels like family and a second home. That sense of belonging makes all the difference in their learning experience. I feel it too when I visit as a homeroom parent.

As a teacher myself, I also see what a positive and supportive work environment this is for the staff. It’s clear the teachers feel valued, respected, and supported to do their best work. It’s so important that we keep supporting them in ways that help them feel appreciated and proud of what they do.

The Board of Education plays a big part in keeping our school great. I especially appreciate that some board members are parents with young kids in the district. That personal connection means they really understand what families are going through and work hard to make decisions that help all of us. It’s also great to see board members at school events, engaging with the community.

Thanks to the teamwork between the school and the Board, our kids have a safe, supportive place to be their best selves. We’re really grateful for everyone’s hard work in making this school feel like home—and we’ll miss it so much when our last child graduates.

Please accept this statement in support of Jason Nelson’s re-election to East Amwell Township’s Board of Education. My son has been enrolled in East Amwell School since kindergarten and is currently a third grade student. We love being members of the EATS community and have come to know Jason and his family during these past three years. I believe it is critical for a Board member to be visible and accessible to the school community and to have an intimate knowledge of the school. Jason meets all of this criteria. He and his family are fixtures at EATS events (and East Amwell township events) and he has three young children who are currently enrolled in the school. As a result, Jason possesses the necessary knowledge of the school’s operations and personnel in order to function effectively as the Board’s President. I have been beyond pleased with his efforts as a Board member over these past three years, including his role as the current President of the Board.

In many ways, a Board of Education is instrumental in setting the tone of a school community. While Jason has been a member of the Board, the EATS community has been loving and supportive. This is a community that strives to bring people together in the spirit of fun and inclusiveness. There are many examples of this, such as the various traditional school events like the end of year picnic, color run and field day. Not only that, the school’s ability to attract and retain highly qualified teachers and other employees is critical to maintain the continuity of education and foster a caring environment for the students. While Jason has been a member of the Board, the school has hired and retained excellent teachers, taken meaningful steps to ensure that the students are receiving educational benefits (such as technology and program enhancements) and the school’s rankings and students’ test scores have been excellent. I support Jason’s re-election because I believe that this steady and upward trajectory of EATS will continue under his leadership.

Finally, while I appreciate that fresh leadership can bring positive change, I believe that this has already been achieved by the fact that many of the current board members are new to their role this year. There are strong benefits to having Board members with history and experience, which is another reason why I strongly support Jason’s re-election.

My family couldn't have imagined the incredible sense of community we would find at East Amwell Township School. From the moment we started with the Pre-K program, the entire staff—teachers, aides, and front office—made us feel so welcome.

I feel confident knowing my children are in a beautiful Blue Ribbon school with a staff that genuinely cares for them. The school truly serves as the heart of our community. We see families from nearby towns, and we all have a special connection, sharing everything from birthday parties to friendly waves on the road.

Beyond the school itself, I have found a 'village' of wonderful parents who have become some of our closest friends. We feel so fortunate to be part of this community, and it's clear that the school is at the center of it all.

East Amwell Township School is a perfect match for my family. The teachers are quickly able to recognize that my sons are academically advanced. They provide differentiation in the classroom and work independently with them to meet their skill levels and strengths. This has helped expand and grow my children’s love for learning. I am so thankful that our school is able to make these accommodations.
